Frequently Asked Questions
Are rooms private or semi-private?
We have both private and semi-private accommodations. Contact us to discuss availability and cost. Community members are welcome to inquire about bringing personal furniture. As long as it allows us to meet medical needs, sanitation and environmental regulations, you can bring your own furniture.
Are couples or spouses allowed to room together?
Couples are most welcome and encouraged to room together.
Do community members choose their meals, or is there a planned menu?
There is a daily menu, and community members are welcome to choose from the main menu or a la carte. If a member requests something feasible that we don’t have in stock, we will order it and have it available as soon as possible. Read more about our flexible dining options here.
What are the visiting hours? Have they changed since the pandemic?
There are no set visiting hours, and we will warmly welcome visitors as much as possible. However, under the current pandemic regulations, appointments are currently requested and infection control procedures must be observed. Please contact our social worker and let her know when you plan to visit.
Can community members leave for the day or weekend with friends or family members?
Absolutely. We do have to follow certain procedures, especially concerning COVID-19, but we will make those as simple as we can.
Are nurses on staff 24/7?
Yes, we have licensed nurses on-site 24 hours a day. On-site physician services are also available. We always have a physician on-call as well.
Do your schedules mandate sleep or wake-up times?
Our community is your home. You go to bed and wake up when you want. We will modify our schedules to fit your needs.
What are some social activities available for residents?
Bingo, exercise room, spiritual services, outings, arts and crafts, manicures and more. Click here to view our latest calendar for activities and events.
What happens if I need to be hospitalized?
Should you require hospitalization, your nurse will coordinate transportation via our transportation service or ambulance. We will keep a file of individuals you wish to have notified if that occurs. Community members may choose their preferred hospital unless the medical emergency requires something different.
How do I get to and from my doctor appointments?
We provide transportation to local medical appointments, as well as scheduled trips for shopping and fun activities in the community. Transportation to out-of-network or specialist appointments can be arranged but will have an additional charge.
What is the cost for Advena Living at Fountainview?

Is there a beauty salon on-site?
Yes, our beauty and barber salon features licensed cosmetologists who specialize in all hair types and can provide personalized hair care in a relaxing environment. A wide range of services are available for both men and women at an affordable price. Read more about our amenities here.
Are pets allowed?
We are a pet-friendly community. Pets are considered on an individual basis depending on age, size and type of pet. We require a temperament assessment completed by a qualified individual, as well as current vaccinations and flea and tick prevention. A designated friend or family caregiver must agree to take the pet in an emergency. Additionally, the community member must agree to cover the cost of grooming, food and maintenance of the pet, including third-party services to care for the pet if necessary. A $500 deposit is required. Contact us for more details or questions.
Can a community member move from assisted living directly to long-term care?
Yes, we can help with that transition whenever it becomes necessary due to physical or cognitive need. A community member can also move to skilled healthcare temporarily upon return from the hospital and hold their assisted living unit if return is expected.
